The Worship Arts Resident is responsible for weekly participation in leading and serving in various venues across campus. This role will also assist the Worship Arts staff in investing in, training, and empowering volunteers. 

Accountability/Supervision:

The Resident will be ultimately accountable to and under the supervision of the Harrison Lane Worship Pastor.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • To know and love Jesus Christ as your Savior
  • Maintain a life above reproach (Titus 1:7-8)
  • Serve with a humble and teachable spirit (Philippians 2:3-4)
  • Commit to growing spiritually
  • Must be proficient in playing guitar, piano, or both (proficiency in other instruments is a plus)
  • Must be able to lead vocally with accurate pitch while playing their instrument
  • Must be willing to regularly utilize music and planning software such as Ableton Live and Planning Center Services (training will be provided)
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ensure sufficient preparation for weekend services and special events
  • Work 40+ hours plus Christmas and Easter

Major Responsibilities:

  • Participate and/or lead weekly in mid-week and weekend worship venues across the Harrison Lane campus (Including Student Ministries or The Well as needed).
  • Provide authentic worship experiences in concert with biblical messages and themes, ensuring theological adherence, a standard of excellence, and creativity of expression in assigned venues.
  • Maintain and guard stylistic relevance for each assigned venue. This includes appropriate instrumental choice, song selection, loop usage, etc.
  • Shepherd and invest in the lives of worship team members beyond rehearsal and service settings.
  • Assist the Worship Arts staff in the assimilation process of new volunteers and general training and evaluation of ministry volunteers.
  • Maintain and protect values of humility, serving, and excellence in every venue and outlet of oversight.
  • Meet weekly with the Worship Arts Pastor for coaching and mentoring.
  • Participate in resident training for personal and spiritual development.
  • Participate in and lead any church-wide events requiring worship support, including, but not limited to, weekend retreats, worship nights, outdoor events, etc.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Support other church ministries as needed
  • Manage day-to-day administrative duties as needed, including, but not limited to, personal planning, scheduling, budget management, etc.
  • Assist Technical and Production Director (upon training) with general maintenance, set-up/teardown, and various tech roles around the campus.
  • Participate in or provide support as needed for weddings/funerals held on campus.

Hours:

40+ hours a week

Commitment:

One-year commitment with an option for a second

Compensation Plan Valued at $44,750.00:

  • Annually Stipend $20,000
  • Housing is provided based on resident hire, which includes electric, gas, water, and cable
  • Additional monthly stipend for health insurance
  • Complete benefit package details available during the interview process
  • Six Counseling Sessions

Time off: Two weeks of paid vacation, five personal and five sick days annually.
