Renovation Church is a fast-growing community that is passionate following Jesus and helping others do the same. We recently moved into a brand new 45,000 square foot church building, and since moving our church has grown in attendance from 500 to 1800 people over the past three years. We are looking to hire a Middle School Pastor to oversee our growing 6th – 8th grade student ministry (called Renovation Youth). We are looking for a gifted leader who is passionate about student ministry, sharing the Gospel, and discipling the next generation. - Ability to recruit, train and supervise qualified youth volunteers
- Gifted ability in preaching the Bible to youth students
- Must be a reliable self-starter, delegator, natural leader, and team player
- Ability to see refinements needed and activate changes
RESPONSIBILITIES
BE THE TEACHING PASTOR FOR 6TH – 8TH GRADE STUDENTS
- Choose message topics for the entire year
- Preach weekly on Biblical truths in a way that applies to youth students
- Create and send out small group questions to small group leaders in advance of each youth night
OVERSEE YOUTH MINISTRY NIGHTS
- Responsible for all details regarding our weekly youth ministry nights including:
- Announcements, games, worship, teaching, preparing small group leaders to lead small group discussion, loading pro-presenter, cafe´
- Be the point person for escalated questions, concerns and issues from parents/ youth/volunteers
- Manage any supplies necessary for youth ministry
- Create and oversee opportunities for youth students to volunteer regularly on Sunday mornings and Renovation Youth nights
LEAD YOUTH VOLUNTEERS
- Recruit gifted volunteers to help lead a weekly small group
- Train youth leaders regularly to help them grow in their leadership ability
- Keep youth leaders accountable to consistently investing in youth students within and outside of youth ministry programming
- Support and encourage volunteers on a regular basis
DEVELOP AND LEAD STUDENT AND PARENT COMMUNICATIONS
- Develop resources to effectively encourage parents to disciple their students at home (e.g. social media platforms, etc.)
- Regularly be in communication with parents of youth students about the happenings of Renovation Youth
- Manage all Renovation Youth social media platforms
CREATE AND OVERSEE EXTRA YOUTH EVENTS
- Choose and lead youth ministry in annual events such as camp retreats, missions trips, etc.
- Oversee all details for youth events including student and leader recruitment, finances, supplies, transportation, waiver forms, etc.
REPORT DIRECTLY TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
- Meet regularly with the Executive Director to report strengths and weaknesses of the ministry, to be held accountable for job responsibilities, and also to better develop personal leadership.
- Attend monthly staff meetings
